Description
Why Masters Antarctic Krill Omega-3
Krill oil is a marine source of omega-3 in which the EPA and DHA are carried mainly in phospholipid form rather than as triglycerides, which is the difference most people are buying when they choose krill over standard fish oil. Each capsule gives 500mg of Antarctic krill oil (Euphausia superba) providing 200mg of total marine phospholipids, 60mg EPA, 40mg DHA and 100µg of astaxanthin — the carotenoid that gives krill oil its natural red colour. Small softgels, no fishy repeat, and no flavour to mask. Made in the UK to GMP and ISO standards.
We make no health claim for this product, and that is deliberate. The authorised EPA and DHA claims all require a daily intake of 250mg, and one to two capsules give 100–200mg. We would rather tell you the numbers and let you decide than round them up. If a specific omega-3 intake is what you are after, check the figures in the table below against it.

Masters Antarctic Krill Omega-3 — frequently asked questions
How much EPA and DHA does this give me?
One capsule provides 60mg EPA and 40mg DHA; two provide 120mg and 80mg. We publish these figures rather than a claim because the authorised EPA and DHA health claims require 250mg a day, which this dose does not reach.
How is krill oil different from fish oil?
In krill oil the omega-3 fatty acids are carried mainly as phospholipids rather than triglycerides, and krill oil naturally contains astaxanthin. Fish oil is typically the cheaper way to reach a high EPA and DHA intake; krill is chosen for the phospholipid form and the smaller capsule.
Can I take this with blood-thinning medication?
Speak to your doctor first. Omega-3 supplements can affect clotting, so anyone with a coagulation disorder or on anticoagulants should take medical advice before starting.
Is it suitable for vegetarians?
No. The oil is from Antarctic krill and the capsule shell is bovine gelatin.
Where is the krill from?
Antarctic krill, Euphausia superba. The oil does not originate from the UK; encapsulation and packing are done in the UK to GMP and ISO standards.
